Comforts of Home

Uncategorized | October 29th, 2012

I’m really starting to enjoy being home again. And by home, I mean hanging out with Baker. It’s been really nice. Going out Saturday night with Dan is something the two of us haven’t done together in a long time, and running into so many friends we used to see all the time back when we first got together was very nostalgic. I’ve had a hard time adjusting to the balance of home life vs. life on the road, but it’s finally been coming together a lot more this last year. Dan is so rad, and so fun to hang… Continue Reading →

Thank You Brandon

I guess that’s really the first thing that comes to mind. Thanks for getting up and talking to me. Windows and Mirrors. The show was good, it’s weird when you’re standing in a small room and for the most part no one seems to be interested in what it is your doing. They are all wrapped up in their conversations and mixed drinks, and I’m standing there with Sam in my hands, playing their background noise. Most people would be intimidated by something like this…but it kinda reminds me of my days working at the strip club. Mohawks still weren’t… Continue Reading →

Some Kind Of Auto Pilot

So after the show I played at Magoos in Tacoma on Monday, I’ve been working like a mad woman. Got my book finished for my next recording…here’s some sneak peaks on that…definitely a step up from the first book. The pictures used for the book are a mix of random pics I’ve taken with my phone while on tour, and photos from the recent shoot I did with Rachel Shaw Tate. I’ve also been catching up on video footage/editing, and have been making some updates to the site that I’ve been meaning to get around to for awhile now. So… Continue Reading →

I’m The Asshole

Uncategorized | October 20th, 2012

So I’m recording a new album (finally) 2 weeks from today. Super stoked. I’ve always been a big fan of an album reflecting the way the songs are performed live, and I found a local engineer that is just as excited as I am to do a completely raw album with just bass and vocals. I might do some harmonica too, but Idunno yet, and maybe even an a’cappella song. I haven’t fully decided yet. Not sure what he calls his studio, but I’m recording with Bill Patterson from Graceland 5. If you recognize the style of artwork for my… Continue Reading →

Sleep Never Comes Easy

Uncategorized | October 15th, 2012

No matter how late I stay up, or what I do throughout the course of my day, I’m not passing out until the 5-6am time period, and still waking up before noon. I feel stressed, but not a bad stress…Idunno. Still trying to brainstorm the ultimate idea I guess. The one that’s going to solve all my challenges and answer all the questions correctly. Suppose I’m not really alone in that way of thinking. Baker passed out around 10:30 while watching Dune, the extended version. Things I missed in the theater version made more sense to me after watching this… Continue Reading →

Queens Of Noise – Behind The Scenes

Uncategorized | October 14th, 2012

On October 10th, 2012, I was showcased on Queens Of Noise, a radio show on KYRS – Thin Air Community Radio in Spokane, WA. Here’s the video I shot from that night. Thank you so much Susan for having me on the show. There’s a good mix of music, interview, and some of the stuff that went on while we were off air. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7

Standing on top of a mountain…

Uncategorized | October 13th, 2012

I remember being a little girl and listening to all the amazing stories from my grandma’s friends who were travelers. Today, while standing on top of a mountain, I realized I have become the type of person that amazed me as a child. I also feel the best way to honor the dead is to continue living your life, and doing the things you would be doing had they never passed. I thought about people who never see much past their front stoop. Today, the burning in my calves told me I was alive, and then I saw something that… Continue Reading →

Home Again, Home Again

Uncategorized | October 13th, 2012

So tour is over, and for the first time ever, I wasn’t dreading the trip home. Generally, I start getting uncomfortable as the scenery and landscapes begin to take on an air of familiarity…but not this time. I hit play on the Sony Walkman MP3 player…and hauled ass over the hills West Bound… The sun was bright and beautiful, and I couldn’t get rid of my shit eating grin. I actually took this pic on my way out to Spokane, but I pretty much looked like this every time I was driving somewhere. I say hauled ass, because after a… Continue Reading →
